Guiseley 4 Radcliffe Boro 3: TEN minutes of promise, followed by 80 minutes of purgatory condemned Boro to yet another defeat, when the points should have been there for the taking.
Boro went down to the odd goal in seven against Guiseley, inspired by a first half brace from former Rochdale favourite, Mark Stuart.
However, Steve Foster had emphasised Boros bright start with the opener after just four minutes.
But four goals were then conceded two before half-time (Stuart, 21 and 42) and two afterwards (Hunt 63, Cooke 66) before Simon Kelly's 80th minute goal from 80 yards, closely followed five minutes later by Fosters second, showed Boro were still interested.
But it was too little too late.
Foster should then have secured his hat-trick and a last gasp equaliser with the last kick of the match, but he was unable to lob the goalkeeper, stranded in no-mans land, but who still managed to pull off a simple save.
However, Foster is doing his bit up front. He currently lies joint second in the leagues goal scoring charts with a total of 15.
As for league positions, Boro currently lie slap bang in the middle of the table with 22 points from 17 games, and 25 games left.
However, leaders Workington already have 40 points from 18 games, and Tuesday nights conquerers Guiseley, who currently occupy the fourth play off spot, now have 30 points from 18 games.
So the job of catching up the top five is not going to be easy.
Also, Boro are currently just six points ahead of Blyth Spartans, who lie fourth from bottom.
The visit of Gateshead on Saturday, December 4, is Boros only home league game until the New Year.
Between now and then they are away to Prescot Cables (Tuesday November 30), Blyth (Saturday, December 11), and Marine (Saturday, December 27).
In between there is also a Unibond League Challenge Cup tie.
BORO: Hurst, Duffy, McGuire, Halford, Hill, Luke, Kelly, Forrest, Denney, Foster, Battersby. Subs: Crowther, Wilkinson, Kilheeney.
