MAJOR landscaping work is planned in Blackburn's Barbara Castle Way to replace 45 dead horse chestnut trees infected with the disease Phytophora.
A scheme along the road's central reservation will last from November 27 to 30 with the same species of birch that has been used in the Barbara Castle Way extension.
A lane on each side of the carriageway will be closed during the works but it is hoped disruption will be kept to a minimum. Other necessary maintenance of the central reservation's shrubs and plants will also be carried out.
