LARCHES and Savick boxers enjoyed a hat-trick of wins at a boxing tournament at the Woolston Leisure Centre held by Bridgefoot Police Amateur Boxing Club.
In a schoolboy contest 11-year-old Jordan Killeen (Larches), in only his third contest as an amateur boxer, beat Oliver Allard (Bolton Boys ABC) winning every round in the three round contest.
Fourteen-year-old Chris Betteridge (Larches) knocked out Wayne Walker (Bulloughs ABC Wigan) in the first round in 30 seconds, Betteridge's right hand doing the damage. Walker was unable to leave the ring for ten minutes, but was given the all-clear by the doctor later on in the evening.
Betteridge has now had two contests so far with both wins coming by a knockout.
In a senior contest light welter Michael Hall (Larches) beat Danny Potter (Bridgefoot Police ABC) on points, winning all three rounds. Hall, 18, picked his punches well catching 30-year-old Potter with right hand punches throughout the contest.
