POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a teenager attempted to snatch a woman's handbag in Rishton.
The woman was loading the boot of her Mercedes sports car in a car park adjacent to the doctors' surgery, in Spring Street, when she felt someone try to take her bag off her shoulder.
There was a struggle and she fell to the floor.
The would-be thief failed to get her bag and ran off down Spring Street towards Bridge Street.
He was around 16 years old, slim build with short, spikey mousey-blonde hair.
He was wearing a navy jacket, light blue jeans and white trainers.
Great Harwood police would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident on Monday, at around 12.10pm or has any information about it.
In particular they would like to speak to a young mum who was pushing a young child down Spring Street at the time of the incident.
Anyone with information is asked to telephone Great Harwood police on 884800.
