A 14 year-old boy suffered a head injury and four broken toes in a Monday night road accident.
Police are now seeking the woman driver of a red Vauxhall car involved in the incident who stopped then left the scene when an ambulance arrived.
The accident happened at 8.30pm as the teenager crossed Tyldesley Road in Atherton.
The driver of the old model Vauxhall Astra or Belmont told a bystander that she was going to move it further down the road but she never came back. She is described as white, in her mid to late 20s, of medium to heavy build, with shoulder length hair. She wore a white T-shirt.
The injured youth was taken to the Royal Bolton Hospital where his condition is described as stable.
Anyone with information about the woman's identity is asked to contact police on 0161 856 7201, 0161 856 7274 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
