I WRITE with regard to an article on November 8, about different half-terms at the two Catholic schools in Burnley.
I would like to point out that this is not an issue for only the Catholic schools in Burnley (as your headlines would suggest) but affects many other children, parents and staff in Burnley schools.
All the schools in District 12 and surrounding areas ought to stick to either the Burnley holiday pattern or the national holiday pattern.
When schools in one area have different holidays, it creates problems all around -- for staff who may have spouses at different schools/parents requesting holidays out of school time and also discipline problems caused by a minority of children causing nuisance outside the schools which are still working when theirs is closed for the week.
It shouldn't be too difficult to arrange.
