A BLACKBURN form of solicitors has struck a deal to become the main sponsor of a Christmas Spectacular at Blackburn Cathedral.

The concert on December 18 will feature a range of classical music from Britten to Vivaldi.

Canon Andrew Hindley from Blackburn Cathedral said: "The Cathedral is delighted that such a well known Lancashire firm is supporting the Christmas Spectacular. The concert gives opportunities for so many young people to come together with professionals and make music."

Peter Turner, senior partner at Forbes, said: "Forbes is very pleased to be associated with the concert. It is a super way to celebrate Christmas and a great way for the young people of Blackburn to display their talent."

The event will feature the Renaissance Singers, Blackburn Cathedral Choir, Blackburn Cathedral Girl's Choir, Blackburn Cathedral Young People's Choir and the Northern Chamber Orchestra.

Piano duet Peter and Mark Fielding, soprano Philippa Hyde, tenor Joshua Elliott and organist Greg Morris will also feature, conducted by Richard Tanner.

Blackburn Cathedral Choir broadcasts regularly on the radio and on BBC1's Songs of Praise.
