Padiham Predator's Clarets review

NINE points out of nine is an unbelievable return and Steve Cotterill must have an incredible team spirit down at the Turf right now.

I was bowled over with Saturday's win over Millwall, but you could have knocked me down with a feather when I learned that Andy Cooke was back in training with the club.

Yet if ever a player looked after himself it was Andy, so there will certainly be no question marks over his fitness after coming back from Korea.

I had a really enjoyable partnership with him and I really think that if Steve does snap him up, he could do a good job for Burnley.

The fans know exactly what they are going to get from a player who scored going on for 20 goals the season I signed.

So he has that in his locker, he works hard, he is very aggressive and he loves the club. I rate him very highly, so as long as he is in the same shape he was four years ago, it would be a complete no risk move in my opinion.

The other bombshell news of the week was Barry Kilby's purchase of Turf Moor and Gawthorpe, which came as a bit of a shock if I'm honest. But now, on reflection, it's just bricks and mortar and who better to own it that someone you can trust with your life?

Barry has been a Burnley fan all his life and he has come up trumps for the club time and time again, so there really is nobody better to trust your money, or the club with.

He is looking after the club as he sees fit and if this latest venture helps to get the club back on an even financial footing, nobody can argue.

Hopefully on the field, the lads will take no notice of all the boardroom goings on and concentrate on making it 12 points out of 12 at Plymouth this weekend.

It's a place we are definitely capable of going to and winning, especially now we are back to keeping clean sheets.

Who would have thought we'd be this upbeat six short months ago?
