NEWS that the council wants to make cuts by slashing the budget by more than half at the Re:d Centre really appalled me and my family.
The Re:d Centre has evolved into a safe, loving environment for children with very little understanding of how the real world works, giving them a chance to experience life outside their own front door. The councils proposals will shatter all that has been built up over the years, leaving mentally and physically disabled children with a poor service reminiscent of years ago.
Surely the council can make cuts elsewhere instead of attacking the most vulnerable.
