SO the day has finally arrived: Santa is being banned in Birmingham in case if offends muslims. I'm sure it won't be long before Santa is banned everywhere and we'll have to take our kids to see Abu Hamza preaching on the street instead.
The radical muslim cleric was able to block the road outside the Finsbury Park Mosque in London while preaching hatred. Yet who bans him from doing this? No-one.
So why don't we concentrate on banning things that really offend people instead of banning innocent pastimes which offend no-one.
Yet again, as Mrs Austin points out (Letters, November 12) it is the 'politically-correct brigade' who force other cultures on us but won't let us celebrate our own. Most people in Britain welcome those who are willing to work hard and adapt, and a lot of immigrants do this. It is the 'politically-correct brigade' who spoil it for everyone.
