THERE will be blooms all round for the women of Wray this weekend - as a new attraction opens its doors in the village.

The owners of Bridge House Farm tea room and shop will be giving a free potted plant to every local woman who visits between 10am and 4pm this Saturday and Sunday.

Dairy farmers Pat and John Staveley, who have lived in Wray all their lives, are behind both the attraction and the great floral giveaway.

After suffering the ravages of Foot and Mouth disease and a dwindling farm income, the couple who live at Hoskins Farm, decided to convert the derelict buildings of the former Bridge House Farm into a tourist attraction.

It will open to the public on December 11, but friends and neighbours who have sup-ported the plan will be getting an exclusive preview and flowery thanks first.

Pat says: "We have had help and encouragement from so many local people that we wanted to make sure we had shown our appreciation before we opened our doors to everyone."

Bridge House Farm opens to the villagers of Wray only on Saturday and Sunday but from December 11 will be open Tuesday to Sunday from 10am.

As well as a tea room with home-made food, there will be a gift shop with original crafts, artwork and garden gifts.
