CLITHEROE were once again left to rue missed chances as two early second half goals swung the game in Mossley's favour.
The Blues had plenty of possession in the opening stages but were unable to create many clear-cut opportunities. The best chance came on 17 minutes when a stunning 25-yard drive from Gary Jackson cannoned off the crossbar.
Jackson should then have done better when a poor Giggs back pass put him in on goal, but the goalkeeper stood up well and managed to parry the ball clear.
Neil Spencer was later denied by the woodwork as the Blues continued to press forward but they were often let down by a poor final ball, before Jackson was again denied by the goalkeeper.
Cryer wasted another golden chance early in the second half before Clitheroe were finally made to pay for their misses.
On 52 minutes, a poor Spencer pass enabled Chris Downey to open the scoring, then he added a second just two minutes later.
Clitheroe were unable to find a way back into the game and on 85 minutes the home side completed the scoring. From a corner a header came back off the bar, and with the Clitheroe defence slow to react, Danny Meadowcroft fired home.
