AN EAST Lancashire country park will be transformed into a winter woodland showcasing traditional woodland craft at the weekend.
Witton Country Park, in Blackburn, will hold a full day event of woodland craft demonstrations and activities from 11am-3pm on Sunday as part of National Tree Week.
Woodcarvers and woodturners will demonstrate their crafts as well as selling their work.
Willowpool Design, a team from Kendal in Cumbria, will create a sculpture of a reindeer from the branches of a willow tree, a coppice worker will weave willow hurdles while a charcoal maker will demonstrate how fuel for summer barbecues is produced.
Other festivities will include a prize tree treasure trail with festive clues. Children will also be able to create a Harry Potter wand from willow, make recycled paper or making a winter home for birds. Other attractions will include a bird of prey display and a visit from Santa.
