POLICE in Leyland have warned that a man who attacked a woman in the middle of the day could strike again.
It comes after a 39-year-old woman was assaulted on Moss Side Village Green, off Dunkirk Lane, on Monday, November 15, at about 12.25pm.
Police said she was walking from Slater Lane to the village green shops when she was approached by a man wearing a beenie hat and told to hand over her money.
When she refused the man wrestled her to the ground and straddled her before prising her handbag from her hands.
He covered her mouth with his hands and police said both were screaming at each other. After a struggle he escaped empty handed.
The attacker was white, 18-20-years-old, of medium build, about 5ft 7-8ins tall, with a broad face, and unshaven. He wore blue denim jeans, and a canvas jacket.
Witnesses are asked to call Leyland CID on 01772 415845, or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
