DELEGATES are gathering in Lancaster this month to discuss whether or not the lights will go out in the future.
Lancaster University is hosting a conference on the crisis in the UK Energy world.
The aim is to examine the future options available to Britain for the provision of a constant, reliable, affordable, and sustainable supply of electricity.
The event, which takes place on December 14, was borne out of concern that energy prices are on the rise and power supplies in both the US and Europe are fragile.
It is sponsored by the University of Lancaster, the North West Energy Council and the Government.
