YOUNGSTERS from Sacred Heart Primary School, Colne, have dug in to help plant hundreds of trees at Alkincoats Nature Reserve.
East Lancashire woodland initiative supplied 300 trees and shrubs including cherry, holly, dogwood and hawthorn and 150 pupils put them in, supervised by volunteers from Alkincoats Nature Reserve Group, Pendle Council, Lancashire Wildlife Trust and Groundwork.
The planting day was set up by Alkincoats Nature Reserve Group to celebrate National Tree Week.
