FESTIVE Hyndburn residents are to have no less than four chances to see Christmas lights being switched on next week.
On Monday, Rishton's lights will be turned on, Thursday will see Great Harwood's lights switched on, and finally on Friday, Huncoat will be lit up for Christmas.
But the biggest surprise of all will be for Oswaldtwistle residents, who are getting a visit from two Coronation Street stars on Tuesday.
Corrie's Janice Battersby, played by local lass Vicky Entwistle, along with newcomer to the Street, Sean Tully, played by Antony Cotton, will be in town to flick the switch.
Children from St Andrew's Primary School will be getting everyone in the seasonal spirit by singing carols around the tree, and the Balderstone Brass Band will help entertain. The event will be finished with a blessing of the crib.
Councillor Peter Britcliffe, leader of the council and chair of the Oswaldtwistle area council, said: "We are thrilled to have not one, but two Coronation Street stars coming to Oswaldtwistle to switch on our Christmas lights.
"We're grateful Vicky and Antony are taking the time from their busy schedules to do this for us. It will be a great night."
