LEE Wilkinson exacted revenge on Trafford on Saturday with an 87th minute winner that moved Bacup right back into promotion contention.

Last month it was a late goal at Trafford that condemned Bacup to defeat so boss Brent Peters was pleased to turn the tables.

He said: "It was important that we got three points and it sets us up nicely for the game with Fleetwood on Saturday.

"It was an excellent performance and we looked a complete unit after I was unhappy with the set-up in the last game.

"We were as solid as a rock at the back and the midfield worked tirelessly against a strong Trafford side."

Peters went into the game with confidence, not least because he was handing home debuts to former Manchester United pair David May and Ben Thornley.

Darren Emmett wasted a couple of good opportunities, while goalkeeper David Felgate kept Bacup in it at the other end with a couple of good saves.

It took a free kick to break the deadlock three minutes from time when Emmett played in Wilkinson and he tuned to score. Borough ended the game with 10 men when Gary Lloyd was sent off for foul and abusive language.
