PADIHAM held onto top spot in the Division Two table thanks to Saturday's 3-1 away win, overcoming a heavy pitch that was only declared fit 35 minutes before the scheduled kick-off time.
The fixture, which marked the halfway stage of the Storks' 2004/05 football season, completed a league double over their Westhoughton opponents but more importantly got the Storks back to winning ways.
Mark Westhead put Padiham on their way to three points when he turned in a Matt Anderton head down from a Daniel Stubberfield corner on 30 minutes.
Stuart Telfer added a second on 41 minutes, taking full advantage of a fumble by the home keeper Scott Moore to double the Storks' lead.
And three minutes later the scoreline became 3-0 when Telfer again was in the thick of the action firing in a low, hard cross that was deflected into his own goal by Daisy Hill central defender Marius Poghenka to give Padiham an encouraging three-goal half-time advantage.
Daisy Hill pulled a goal back 15 minutes into the second half through Will Archer but never really threatened to cause an upset as Padiham had plenty of possession, but not the cutting edge to add to their first-half tally.
