THE manager of Blackburn Shopping Centre is recovering after a successful heart by-pass operation.
Arnold Wilcox-Wood, who is in his mid-50s, underwent the life-saving surgery at Fairfield Hospital, Bury.
He was due to continue his recovery at home this week, but doctors insisted he remained in hospital for a few more days after one of his legs became infected.
He is expected to return to work in about two months.
Raymond Goldstone, president of Blackburn Chamber of Trade, wished Arnold - the chamber's vice-chairman - a speedy recovery.
He said: "Knowing Arnold he'll be back at work as soon as possible. We wish him well and look forward to him returning fit and well."
