CLLR Ian Barker tells us he believes in accountability (Citizen Letters, last week). But I wonder does he believe in accuracy?
In his epistle to your correspondent Mr Williams he tells us that the contractors for the Millennium Bridge 'are no longer in business'.
Well I remember the name Henry Boot on the notices during construction and they definitely are still in business.
He also tells us that the bridge 'is a leftover from the previous administration'. Am I wrong to think that it was Cllr Yates and the then director of development who sneaked in an early planning application and then led the 'consultation' to push the bridge through?
Maybe the Morecambe Bay Independents were foolish enough to sign the final contract, but if they had not another £1 million in costs already incurred would have gone down the money sluice.
