RAMSBOTTOM United boss Derek Egan is urging his side to take their chances at home to Abbey Hey tonight.
Two late Michael Saunders goals on Saturday weren't enough to prevent a home defeat to Maine Road, 3-2, but Egan insists it was his opponents who should have been hauling back a deficit.
He said: "We should have won that game. If Michael Saunders can finish like that for his second goal then the other chances we created, not just for him, should have been taken.
"They were not a particularly good side, which makes the result even worse.
"If we'd have scored first it would have been a different game but when we were 2-0 down we were gambling so conceded a third."
But victory over Abbey Hey will not only put the Rams back on track to penetrate the upper reaches of North West Counties Division One, it will also help Egan ease the painful memories of Maine Road.
He said: "It was very disappointing to lose after two consecutive wins, but if we win tonight we are back on track.
"We'll have 12 points out of the last 15, which you would always take, so I hope I'll get a good reaction from the lads."
Gareth Brooks remains on the sidelines with medial ligament damage and is likely to be out until January. Matt Edgington is still suspended.
