PEOPLE wanting to attend this year's Mayor's Command Performance in Darwen are urged to book early.
The popular event raises money for the civic leader's chosen charity.
Last year the late Mike Barrett held an evening of musical entertainment and raised cash for United We Stand, Divided We Fall, a cause assisting local groups challenging disadvantage, deprivation and persecution.
This civic year, Mayor and Mayoress Couns David and Karimeh Foster are hoping the success will continue as they aim to raise funds for their charity From Age to Age which aims to bridge both the generation and culture gap in Blackburn and Darwen.
The 2005 Mayor's Command Performance is on Saturday, February 5 at Darwen Library Theatre, at 7.30pm.
It is billed as an 'all-singing, all-dancing variety show' starring Darwen's tenor James Fitzgerald, indoor street band Blowjangles and singer Gwen Sangster.
Other entertainment will be provided by virtuoso guitarist Brett Slater, brass band The Sax Pistols and the Dappa Dancers.
The evening will once again be compered by local comedian Don Banks and musical director Dave Smith.
Tickets at £5.50 are available from the box office on 01254 706006 and from Darwen Library.
