LEIGH Miners Rangers U15s made slow starts to the beginning of each half and consequently went down 18-16 to West Bank.
West Bank raced into an 8-0 lead before Lee Mahdavi scored and converted his own try to close the gap to two points. Just before the break West Bank crossed again to give them an interval lead of 14-6.
West Bank crossed for another try at the start of the second half.The Miners worked hard to get back into the game and they were given a huge lift when centre Scott Blackshaw went 70 metres for a super solo try. Mahdavi converted. More good Miners play saw Lee Hudson cross to further close the gap but they could not force the victory.
