WIGAN St JUDE'S 26, LEIGH EAST 14: LEIGH East's up and down season hit another low point under the floodlights at Parsons Walk.
After fighting back from 20-4 down, East lost to a last minute try from St Judes winger Ian Thompson.
Until Thompson touched down and Aussie second row Danny OMara added the extras it was anyones game.
Gavin Corfield gave St Judes the lead in the fifth minute for OMara to added the extras before the experienced Paul Olurinkense charged in for a second home try that OMara again goaled.
With Mark Starkie, Lee Rowley and Gary Fletcher prominent, East hit back with a Gareth Jones touchdown 10 minutes from half time.
Trailing 12-4 at the break, things got worse for East as OMara kicked a penalty at the start of the second half and then added the extras to a Phil Roby try.
But East then enjoyed their best spell and came close to drawing level. Danny Kilshaw and Andy Gregson crossed in quick succession and John Woods landed a conversion to cut the deficit to 20-14 with 15 minutes left.
Woods and Kilshaw almost scored as East piled on the pressure but when Thompson finally broke clear in the last minute it ended St Judes four-match losing streak.
