TWO people have been arrested in the first of a series of police drugs raids in Burnley today.
Operation Freeze saw officers clad in body armour and helmets raid four addresses in the Burnley Wood area in search of eight suspects.
The two people were arrested at a property in Parkinson Street on suspicion of drug dealing.
Police said the operation was based on sound intelligence following information supplied from residents.
Its aim was to reassure the Burnley community that the police are winning the war on drugs and will act on information supplied.
Five officers and two officers from a specialist unit with military training took part in the raids.
Sergeant Matt Henderson said: "There was evidence of heroin misuse around them and the property and they have been arrested on suspicion of possession of
heroin."
