THE NHS claims it is short of funds for important things, even life-saving equipment.
So you can imagine how shocked I was at 7.30pm one Friday when I received a knock at the door and was greeted by a taxi driver who handed me a letter from Fairfield Hospital. He said he had been asked to deliver it along with many others. It was an appointment for a clinic. I was amazed.
It is disgusting that the NHS sees fit to waste funds that could be put to better use, when a first-class stamp would do the same job. I rang the hospital and I was told it is common practice to deliver appointments to fill clinics and keep the waiting lists down.
This waste of money should be stopped.
