LEIGH RMI U10s gained an outstanding win against league leaders Eagley Wanderers.
In a hard fought game were victory for both sides was important.
In the first half Leigh took the game to Eagley with some exhilarating football in midfield from both Ryan Holland and Kyle Swindells, who were both in tremendous form.
The first goal came direct from a corner taken by Louis Morris which found the net after a missed clearance from the Eagley keeper. With both teams battling hard and with the defensive duo of Sam Pollard and Zac Nicholls holding strong at the back, the first half finished 1-0.
The second half saw another early goal for Leigh, again from the ever running Morris, however it was Eagley who began to pressurise with some good football.
Having withstood all their efforts Leigh once again took the ascendancy, and with man of the match Matthew Wilkinson in outstanding form it was a 10 minute hat-trick that sealed a magnificent win for the Leigh side.
