A LANDMARK regeneration scheme in Morecambe has unveiled a £1 million facelift which has been four years in the making.
The Poulton Home Zone - the first scheme of its kind in the country - has completely changed the face of the area around Clarence Street, Green Street and Clark Street.
The remodelled streets were officially opened on Thursday - with new lights and bollards to complement new paving and road surfaces.
Narrow and congested streets have given way to one-way wider streets, lined by houses and businesses that have been revamped using traditional materials.
Wherever possible recycled items from the original streetscape have been used.
The Poulton Home Zone received £540,000 from a Government challenge fund and the rest from Lancashire County Council and Lancaster City Council. The opening will take place at noon on Clark Street.
