LANCASTER people are being asked to say what they think about walking...
Officials at the city council have produced a 'Draft Walking Strategy' and now want to hear the views of locals.
They say although walking can improve health and fitness and create a sense of well-being, it seems fewer people are willing to use 'Shanks's pony'.
Cllr Abbott Bryning, Cabinet member for regeneration, says: "Walking is a cheap and easy way to get fit and stay healthy. Potential improvements to the district's networks are important to encourage people to walk more and enjoy where they live."
Copies of the walking strategy are available on request from the city's planning and building control office at Palatine Hall in Dalton Square, Lancaster or via the council's website at www.lancaster.gov.uk.
