A BURNLEY vet advised security-conscious businesses to ditch their guard dog in favour of a monkey or goose.
Mr J King-Shaw, who kept a range of animals at his home for 20 years as an experiment, said while dogs sometimes sleep, monkeys and geese would never let a stranger pass.
He said: "My monkeys would growl at the approach of anyone unfamiliar and if a burglar came along they would have bitten him and gone back to their perches before he knew what had happened."
