A SHOP owner has vowed it is "business as usual", despite two of his sunbed shops being targeted by vandals in one night.
Mark Overton, 34, owns Sunseekers tanning shops in Clayton-le-Moors, Rishton and Great Harwood.
The front windows of two of the shops, in High Street, Rishton, and Whalley Road, Clayton-le-Moors, have been smashed in attacks which he believes have caused around £2,500 worth of damage.
Mr Overton said: "It seems just like mindless thuggery but it's a coincidence that both shops are the only ones in the block which have been targeted.
"I have run them both for about six months.
"All I know is that I have about 2,000 clients per shop and in that six months I have had no disgruntled customers.
"I don't know anyone with a grudge against me.
"But I will not be beaten and as I told my staff it's business as usual.
"I am talking to the council about other effective means of preventing damage to my property, possibly shutters or CCTV.
"The two big windows at the Clayton shop were smashed.
"At the Rishton shop, it looked like someone had gone round with a hammer and smashed seven windows."
Mark got a phone call shortly after 9pm last Sunday night to alert him to the damage.
Both shops were closed on Monday to repair some of the damage but are now back open for business.
Police in Accrington and Great Harwood are making further inquiries in relation to the two incidents, which they are linking.
They have no witnesses and are appealing for anyone who may know more to contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or Accrington CID office on 01254 353743.
