CELEBRITY couple Peter Andre and Jordan now have a new bosom buddy thanks to Accrington animal expert Kevin Horkin.
Peter, the boyfriend of Jordan, real name Katie Price, called Kevin for help when he struggled to find a special Christmas present for the glamour model.
He was hoping to find a cute Chihuahua and called Kevin to beg for help.
Celebrity pet expert Kevin, 42, who boasts of hunting down pets for megastars including Madonna and Eartha Kitt in the past, was even filmed for a new television series in his quest.
He said: "I've supplied animals for TV for 20 years, like Coronation Street, and I have written four books on celebrities and their pets.
"Over the years, as I have done that kind of work, I am normally called in to find the perfect pet.
"Peter Andre rang me and said could I help out. And it happened they were making a programme and wanted to fit it in."
Jordan, who had a son Harvey by former Blackburn Rovers star Dwight Yorke, said she wanted a pet dog after spotting Britney Spears with a cute Yorkshire Terrier puppy.
Kevin is also a publisher, behind a number of Manchester-based magazines about dogs, and has been celebrity booker for Crufts dog show. Over the years he has presented a number of television programmes on pets, from Animal Tales earlier this year to The Pet Set in 2003.
From humble beginnings as a stall holder on Accrington market, the entrepreneur, who now lives in Clitheroe, has also worked as a columnist for a Sunday newspaper, writing a celebrity pet page.
And when celebrities need pets, they often turn to Kevin for help.
He explained: "If you look back 20 years, you could go to a store and buy dogs and cats, but that is frowned upon today. Because of the work the RSPCA and Kennel Club have done, a pet is a very serious lifestyle choice and people just don't go out and rush into it.
"And because celebs have a busy life, they don't like to go and search for the pet themselves, probably because the price would go up if they did!
"But also they want independent advice as to how the pet will turn out as it gets older.
"It's all down to the breeding. Before I buy a pet for any celebs I always make sure I see the parents, and I look at what temperament they both have.
"This will give me an idea of how an animal is going to grow up."
When Peter Met Jordan will be aired on December 17 on ITV1.
