YOUR correspondent Tony Burke, writing about smoking (Letters, December 3), says that "Culture has changed since 1944". He is a good example that it has not changed for the better.
He has managed to insult both a lady, correspondent Mrs Jones, and those on active service in 1914-18 and in 1939-45.
If he did not know "whether to laugh or be incandescent with rage", then I would advise the latter. Jump in a lake and go up in smoke!
