to Byron
CLITHEROE have appointed former Bamber Bridge boss Paul Byron as their new manager.
The former Accrington Stanley, Lancaster City, Morecambe and Southport defender, who also saw Football League service with Hartlepool United, has joined the Blues after they completed their search for a replacement for Lee Sculpher who left the club last month.
Clitheroe, who are at home to Belper tomorrow, will retain Martin Eatough as assistant manager.
Byron had a three-year stint at the Preston-based outfit before he quit the club last week.
Byron took on the a daunting task at Irongate and immediately steadied the ship although he wasn't able to prevent the club's first ever relegation at the end of his first part season.
In his first full campaign Bridge finished a creditable 13th and last term he guided the club to a top ten finish and promotion back to the Premier Division under restructuring.
