A KNIFE-WIELDING robber threatened to kill a woman unless staff at a Blackpool Bureau De Change to hand over £1,000 worth of US currency.
The man walked into Euro Change, Birley Street, at 9.30am on Tuesday morning and asked staff for $3,000.
On being told that they would not be able to supply such an amount of money because they were awaiting a delivery, the man's behaviour became threatening.
He pulled out a knife, described as having a 12-inch blade and a 6in handle, and held it to the throat of a woman customer. He threatened to kill her unless he was given money.
The robber is described as white, 5ft 10in to 6ft tall, of stocky build with short, fair hair and clean shaven. He spoke with a local accent. He was wearing a waist length, light coloured jacket, jeans and white trainers.
Police are appealing for anyone who may have seen the man entering or leaving the premises to come forward.
Anyone with any information is asked to contact Blackpool police on 01253 293933.
