RECENTLY I helped for five weeks with the poppy appeal and was very disappointed a few days after Remembrance Sunday when I revisited the memorial gardens in Corporation Park, Blackburn to see that all the poppy wreaths had been removed.
These wreaths are not cheap and are placed there for a reason, as I am sure people are aware.
On my poppy round I pass a few memorials and last year's wreaths have to be moved before Remembrance Day.
I am sure we will be told its because of vandals but I don't believe that to be so.
The remembrance garden looked lovely this year, shame about the wreaths. What do readers think?
