COUNCIL house rent rises of 3.86 per cent were rubber-stamped by members at Wednesday's council meeting.
The increase equates to £1.93 a week, taking the average weekly rent to £51.87. Prices range from £38.16 for an average bedsit to £68.20 for an average four-bedroom house.
However, there will be wide variation in the amount individual tenants will pay, from a rent cut of 0.9 per cent for some, to an increase of 13.7 per cent for others.
Charges will also be amended for sheltered housing, amenity and heating charges, and Carelink costs. Garage rents rise by the same percentage, to £4.31 a week.
