IT has been a frustrating season so far for Radcliffe Borough boss Kevin Glendon - but he insists there is light at the end of the tunnel.

The Stainton Park side have dropped out of contention for the play-offs after failing to win any of their last six games.

A massive injury list has seen Glendon having to rely on youth team players to make up the numbers, but the Boro boss has recently been able to recruit new names in Darren Royle and Peter Carty and sign five players to a contract for next season.

Boro have been down to just 11 fit players at times over the last month, but Glendon refuses to compromise the club's future in order to pay over the odds for new blood.

He said: "It is difficult, especially if the players injured are on contract.

"You still have to pay them but need to bring others in to replace them which has been the situation with us.

"I know what is needed to be successful and how much it costs.

"I also know what happens to established clubs with good history who try and chase that success and subsequently what has happened to them."

Boro currently lie ninth, one point and two places above Saturday's opponents Lincoln United.
