FOSTER carers to look after older children are needed by an award-winning department of Bury Council.
The family placement team won a team prize at the council's annual achievement awards in recognition of its success in recruiting more carers over the last year.
Diana Powell, team manager, said: "This does not mean we can relax as we still need more foster carers, especially for teenagers, groups of brothers and sisters, older children and disabled children.
"We need carers who can look after children and young people for short planned breaks, for temporary periods until they can return home, and also foster carers who feel able to commit to looking after older children or teenagers until they reach independence."
She added: "We offer all our foster carers a high level of preparation, support and the opportunity to attend a wide range of training to help them to develop their understanding and skills in looking after children and young people who have had difficult experiences."
