AN exhibition of a 15-year plan to regenerate Nelson has started at Nelson Town Hall.
The exhibition lasts until the end of March and shows what the council has agreed so far on the plan, the Nelson Area Development, following work by consultants and extensive public consultation.
The plan sets out how the council, with its partners, will try to tackle housing, social, economic and environmental problems associated with poor terraced housing in Nelson.
Council leader Alan Davies said: "What has been agreed to date by the council is based on work by a range of consultants.
"From now on, the council will drive the direction of what happens in Nelson. However, there is still everything to play for and I would urge residents to view the plan and make known any views they have about it."
Coun Davies said further detailed work, called master-planning, would be done over the next two years in neighbourhoods in Nelson and the public would be consulted at each stage.
The public can view the exhibition at Nelson Town Hall during office hours until the end of March. Alternatively, people can view the proposals at the council's website at: www.pendle.gov.uk/housing/housing-market-renewal/nelson.htm.
