A POOCH petition won a job back for a great lady of the stage - after she was sacked for making a co-star sneeze.
Beauty, one of the star of the Grand Theatre LADOS production of 'Anything Goes' this week, has been re-instated after a campaign.
The Yorkshire terrier has been allowed to tread the boards after co-star Sophie Hughes took anti-histamine tablets to get over an allergy to dogs.
Beauty's owner - and chorus member - Dawn Baxter says: "Beauty was so disappointed when she couldn't take part in the production. She started rehearsals but Sophie was allergic to her so we had to find an alternative.
"Beauty was fed up when I was leaving her at home and she even tried to get out of the cat flap to follow me - so we got a petition together and all of Beauty's friends and fans signed it.
"Sophie took some anti-histamines and now she can work with Beauty."
The show, which opened on Monday night and runs until Saturday, has all the right ingredients of a vibrant musical - recognisable melodies, witty lyrics and slick dance routines.
This is the first time that LADOS have chosen the musical.
