I WRITE in connection with the article 'Flush them out' (February 23). I take issue as urinals are closing up and down the country and some of the reasons given are somewhat spurious.
To blame it all on the impropriety of certain members of the male species is a gross misunderstanding, as most of us are outstanding citizens and fully-fledged ratepayers who are being deprived of our civil rights.
When all these facilities are closed what do people expect us to do? When you take a chance and ask to use urinals that are in private hands you are told you cannot because they are not insured and the facilities are only for staff use or some such.
So the boys are misbehaving? This is a fact of life.
Has no-one ever thought of giving them some sort of play facility they can call their own and where they can be monitored and controlled instead of depriving us all.
Richard A Sertimer, Morecambe.
