HEYSHAM Atoms kept up their push towards the summit of the North West Counties amateur rugby league division four table when they recorded an excellent 16-14 win at Cadishead Rhinos.
The Atoms did well to return from Salford with maximum points and are now in fourth place in the league - but with as many as three games in hand on the teams above them.
The locals also boast the meanest defence in the league having conceded just 246 points.
It's another tough test for the Atoms on Saturday when they are on the road again, this time making the trip to Oldham for a clash on the moors at Waterhead.
Waterhead are currently top of the table as they bid for a return of their glory days - but Dave Crow's men go into the clash in real rugby league territory high on confidence.
They were due to face the leaders a fortnight ago - but that match fell victim to the Pennine snow.
