PEOPLE are to gather to discuss poverty, war and climate change ahead of the G8 Summit in a bid to rid the world of 'elitism'.
Locals are to meet in Lancaster next Monday to discuss issues raised by the planned summit of international leaders at Glen-eagles, Scotland, in July.
They believe that the annual meeting of the G8 is elitist and serves nothing but the 'interests of the rich' while exploiting people and the environment.
The group wants to make a stand and bring the issues to life at a meeting in the banqueting suite at Lancaster Town Hall on Monday at 7.30pm.
The meeting will begin with an introduction to the G8 and popular protest movements before groups discuss areas of particular interest.
