A LOCAL museum housing artefacts from Morecambe's long history is to be opened in the resort's library.
It ends years of struggle for Poulton Heritage Group to find a home for the many items it has collected over the years.
For Poulton Neighbourhood Management has stepped in with cash help to help make the dream of members Steve and Karen Tyson finally come true.
The couple have long dreamed of a dedicated resort museum - at one time displaying exhibits in the Morecambe Hotel.
Delighted Marie says: "We are thrilled that we can display our items and hope to encourage others to donate anything they might have."
Among the items of historic interest are share certificates for the Winter Gardens and the West End pier plus souvenir programmes from Morecambe's showbiz and a collection of china, porcelain and bottles.
The museum is open to the public to view in the reference section of the Library.
