COMMUNITY groups can walk in fancy dress at this year's Darwen Gala.
The committee behind the annual event hopes to inject new life into the traditional road parade.
And groups who don't wish to organise a float are asked to walk in costume instead.
There will also be chance to do a sponsored event such as a bed-push to raise money for a local good cause.
Chairman John Sturgess said: "We want the parade to be as colourful and varied as possible.
People can walk in fancy dress, decorate a float or drive in their classic car or motorbike.
"The more original the idea, the better."
Parade forms are available from Bob Waters on 01254 706510. To register for a sponsored event contact 01254 773795.
