ATHERTON Colls crashed 5-1 at Salford City in what was their worst performance of the season.
After a number of encouraging performances in recent weeks, the local side lost to a side that had itself lost heavily in midweek.
Salford's first goal came on six minutes and they added a second on 30 before Colls were given a lifeline just before the interval when Barry Massey pulled a goal back, heading in from a freekick.
With the last kick of the half Salford restored the two goal lead.
Things didn't improve in the second half and Salford added two more goals.
After five consecutive away matches, Colls are at home this Saturday when Trafford are the visitors.
