LOCAL charities have benefited from Easter goodwill thanks to Blackburn firms.
An appeal for Easter eggs was issued by local organisation the Blackburn Partnership, a group of businesses which carry out community projects in the area.
The scheme has now seen a number of local firms, including VMI (Blackburn) Ltd, Thwaites, Akzo Nobel and Job Centre Plus chip in and help.
VMI even contacted two of their suppliers, confectionery giants Mars and Nestle, who donated 60 eggs each for the easter challenge.
The group helped gather together a collection of eggs, which have now been handed to local branches of Barnardo's Family Action and the Young Carers Projects.
If any other organisations are interested in helping, call Wendy Hobson at the Blackburn Partnership on 01254 661166.
