The Sedgley pack began strongly, testing Gosforth with hard, straight running.
The reward was a penalty after just four minutes, by Adam Rowlinson. But Gosforth hit back at once.
Their backs had pace and ability, with the full-back outstanding, and a break through the centre led to a well worked try wide out on the left.
Sedgley then controlled play from the restart and Jonathan Walmsley received the ball, cut inside and ran from his own half to score under the posts; Rowlinson converted.
Rowlinson then kicked a penalty just before half-time to give Sedgley a 13-5 interval lead.
From the very first scrum after the restart, Sedgley won the ball against the head.
Number 8 Matt Lamprey picked up and ran the try in from half way; Rowlinson again converted.
Ten minutes later, the Sedgley pack drove over for Jake Eaton to score.
Gosforth tried to pick up their game, but a crunching tackle on their outside centre by full-back Aaron McDaid, seemed to take what was left of the fighting spirit out of the Gosforth team.
Lamprey ran in another try from half way; Tom Eastwood received a fast ball out of the scrum then jinked his way through the Gosforth defensive line before stepping the full back to score between the posts, which Rowlinson converted.
To complete a thoroughly miserable afternoon for Gosforth, McDaid capped his excellent performance by running in an individual try from beyond half way.
The whole team's work rate and tackling were exceptional and made what was potentially a tricky divisional quarter-final tie into a showcase of junior colts rugby at its best.
